SESINO history: over 100 years of heat‑exchanger innovation
1919
In 1919, the Sesino brothers founded F.lli Sesino and began operations in a small workshop in Milan, dedicated to the production and maintenance of grilles and radiators for vehicles. This marked the beginning of a story which, starting from radiators, would lead the company to specialize in heat exchangers for industrial and hydraulic applications worldwide.

1920
F.lli Sesino & C. took part in the first Milan Trade Fair, showcasing to the public and industry professionals its cutting-edge solutions for thermal exchange. On this occasion, the company received important awards and recognition for the quality of its products and its ongoing commitment to innovation. This participation represented a key milestone in Sesino’s history, opening new opportunities for commercial development and collaboration with national and international partners.

1922
In 1922, F.lli Sesino & C. received a major order for car radiators from Edoardo Bianchi, one of the most prominent automotive brands of the time. To support this growth, the company moved to a new plant in Via Noè, Milan, strengthening its position in the vehicle cooling systems sector.

1934
In the post-war years, following the resignation of brother Alfredo, the company became Costante Sesino & C. and focused its production on radiators for motor vehicles.

1945
At the end of the Second World War, operations resumed and expanded to include the production of radiator grilles, condensers and evaporators for refrigeration systems. This choice marked a crucial step: Sesino entered the broader field of temperature control, laying the foundations for its future expertise in heat exchangers.

1948
From the early 1950s, thanks to the spread of hydraulic technology, Costante Sesino was the first company in Italy to produce oil coolers (oil heat exchangers). The ability to anticipate the needs of new hydraulic systems opened up an entirely new market, in which heat exchangers became critical components for the reliability and service life of the systems.

1954
To keep pace with the growing market for oil heat exchangers, Costante Sesino moved to a new plant in Via Doberdò, again in Milan. The larger production site made it possible to increase volumes, introduce new technologies and manage an increasingly broad range of cooling solutions.

1955
At the request of a manufacturer of injection moulding machines for plastic materials, who until then had been forced to procure shell-and-tube heat exchangers from the United States, Costante Sesino & C. began in-house production of shell-and-tube heat exchangers specifically designed for oil cooling in hydraulic systems.

1960
Building on the experience gained in radiator manufacturing, Costante Sesino & C. started the production of air‑oil heat exchangers for cooling mobile and industrial machinery, as well as combined radiators for the simultaneous cooling of water and oil.

1970
By the mid-1970s, Costante Sesino had become a leader in the production of air‑oil and water‑oil heat exchangers for hydraulic systems. The company almost completely phased out automotive radiators and focused its resources and expertise on heat exchangers for industrial and mobile equipment, offering high performance and reliability.

1988
Production began on a new generation of aluminium air‑oil heat exchangers, designed to ensure lower weight, higher thermal efficiency and improved corrosion resistance compared to traditional brass/copper versions. Over the years, this technology established itself as the reference standard and led to the gradual replacement of previous production, paving the way for increasingly compact and high‑performance ranges of air‑oil heat exchangers.

1990
The combination of quality, durability and service enabled Costante Sesino to expand its sales abroad, building a commercial network present in almost all continents. Sesino heat exchangers thus entered highly demanding hydraulic and industrial applications, confirming the company’s role as a technical partner rather than a simple supplier.

2003
Driven by continuous growth, Costante Sesino moved to its current headquarters in Gessate, just outside Milan: a modern facility with around 4,000 m² of production area. The new site integrates offices, production and quality control, and is equipped with advanced technologies for the design and manufacture of water‑oil, air‑oil and shell‑and‑tube heat exchangers for increasingly demanding applications.

2009
Sesino introduced customized heat exchangers on a structured basis, engineered for specific applications and machines with particular dimensional and performance requirements. The ability to develop tailor‑made heat exchangers strengthened relationships with manufacturers of hydraulic and industrial systems, creating dedicated solutions for increasingly severe operating conditions.

2011
In 2011, Sesino obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification, formally acknowledging the effectiveness of the company’s quality management system. This milestone confirms the robustness of the processes and standards applied to the design and manufacture of heat exchangers, ensuring control, traceability and safety throughout the entire value chain.

2012
Sesino obtained OHSAS 18001:2007 certification, which formally attests to the robustness of the company processes and the standards applied to the production of heat exchangers. This achievement demonstrates Sesino’s constant focus on control, traceability and safety, strengthening customer confidence in its products and opening new opportunities in more regulated markets.

2017
Sesino’s offering was expanded with high‑performance heat exchangers for high‑pressure applications and particularly harsh environments. Careful attention to materials, treatments and flow configurations made it possible to extend the operating life of heat exchangers even under extreme thermal and mechanical conditions.

2019
In 2019, Sesino celebrated its 100th anniversary, marking a century of experience in heat exchangers and oil cooling. For the centenary, the brand identity was further reinforced and a dedicated communication campaign was launched as a pledge for the “next 100 years” of excellence in heat exchanging.

2020
Sesino turned a challenging year into an opportunity for renewed growth, investing strategically in product innovation, automation, processes and in‑house expertise. Research activities on heat exchangers were intensified, with a particular focus on efficiency, reliability and integration into increasingly compact and high‑performance systems.

2021
In 2021, Sesino introduced the new MSG series of air‑oil heat exchangers, engineered to deliver high thermal efficiency in compact dimensions. The advanced internal geometry and optimized flow paths allow for improved performance at the same air and oil flow rates, reducing energy consumption and noise levels in customer systems. Thanks to a design focused on sustainability, the MSG series is engineered for longer service life, easier maintenance and improved overall efficiency of the system in which it is installed. This new technological step further consolidates Sesino’s role as a partner for more efficient and responsible cooling solutions, aligned with the needs of both OEMs and end users.

2022
Sesino continues to invest in new families of air‑oil, water‑oil and shell‑and‑tube heat exchangers, with versions dedicated to emerging sectors such as alternative energies and to growing international markets. Ongoing product innovation and the expansion of the commercial network further strengthen the company’s positioning as a global partner for thermal exchange in hydraulic and industrial applications.
